Temple University standout and former Denver Broncos, Eagles and Steelers player Adrian Robinson, Jr. has committed suicide by hanging himself, according to the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s office, reports say.
His agency, Symmetry, confirmed the reports via Facebook.
“Adrian was a beloved father, son, brother, friend and teammate. We ask that you please respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time, and especially keep his daughter Avery Marie in your prayers.”
Robinson played six games for the Broncos in their Super Bowl season of 2013.
A linebacker from Temple, Robinson played 12 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted rookie in 2012, then was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for running back Felix Jones late in the preseason of 2013. Robinson was waived eight days later and the Broncos claimed him to add linebacker depth in light of the season-opening, six-game suspension to Von Miller.

Robinson played mostly on special teams. He was waived after the Broncos’ sixth game to make room for receiver Tavarres King, who was briefly promoted from the Broncos’ practice squad.
Although Robinson was only a Bronco for seven weeks, his passing brought back sad reminders to the organization that in the past eight years had three players die before their 25th birthday: Cornerback Darrent Williams, running back Damien Nash and receiver Kenny McKinley. Williams was murdered in a drive-by shooting on Jan. 1, 2007. Nash died of cardiac-related causes on Feb. 24, 2007. McKinley took his own life with a gunshoot wound on Sept. 20, 2010.
Robinson, Jr.’s brother, Averee Robinson will be a junior defensive lineman at Temple this fall.
