Wild horses, a symbol of American heritage, are up for adoption next weekend. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will hold a wild horse and burro adoption event from August 8-10 at the Simpson Events Center in Monroe.
According to WBTV, to be eligible to adopt, applicants must be at least 18 years old with no history of animal abuse. They must also provide a minimum of 400 square feet of corral space per animal, ensuring access to food, water, and shelter. Fencing requirements are 6 feet high for adult horses and 5 feet for yearlings. Additionally, trailers must be stock type, covered, with swing gates and sturdy walls and floors.
Approximately 100 wild horses and burros will be available for adoption at this event.
