White House Christmas Tree to Be Selected from NC Farm

On Monday, October 28, a Christmas tree for the Blue Room of the White House will be selected from Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm in Newland, Avery County. This farm earned the prestigious title of 2024 Grand Champion at the National Christmas Tree Contest.
According to WBTV, the White House staff will choose the tree, continuing a tradition that has seen winners of the contest provide the official White House Christmas Tree since 1966.
The chosen tree will be harvested on November 20, prior to its presentation to the First Lady in Washington, D.C. Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm is located along Spanish Oak Road near Trim Branch Road.
