Shelby Barbecue Restaurant Shuts Down Following Fire

A late-night fire caused damage to the smoker area of Red Bridges Barbecue Lodge on Thursday. Shelby Fire & Rescue responded quickly to extinguish the flames at the restaurant located on East Dixon Boulevard.
According to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page, the fire was contained within the fire wall, and the establishment is closed until further notice. An automated message indicates that Red Bridges will remain closed for the rest of the week, with plans to reopen on Wednesday, October 30th.
The restaurant has been open since 1946, says WCCB.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
