Residents of Rock Hill’s Southside have felt the financial pinch of rising grocery prices, making the upcoming reopening of the Farmacy a welcome relief. The local farmers market offered affordable produce like lettuce, tomatoes, and eggs until it closed in April following a severe storm.

With the Farmacy shuttered, residents have been forced to travel further for groceries, now commuting extra miles to the nearest Food Lion, while the closest store is a Family Dollar just under a mile away, according to WCCB.

Uncertainty surrounded the Farmacy’s future, but thanks to support from donors, it will officially reopen on Saturday, November 2nd. Even during its closure, the Farmacy continued to serve the community by providing meals and supplies through volunteer efforts following the storm.
