Teen Charged with Using Facebook Marketplace for Robberies

A teenager is facing robbery charges after allegedly using Facebook Marketplace to target victims in Monroe.
According to WCCB, the Monroe Police Department said the suspect arranged a meeting with a victim on December 7 at 901 E. Sunset Dr. to buy an iPhone. When the victim arrived, the teen pointed a gun, stole the phone, and fled.
A week later, on December 15, the suspect allegedly robbed another victim at the same location, this time taking a pair of high-end sneakers.
The teen, whose identity is being withheld due to his age, will be charged with robbery through the Department of Juvenile Justice.
