Starbucks Workers Begin Strike Over Contract Negotiations

Starbucks workers began a five-day strike last Friday to protest slow progress in contract negotiations. The walkouts, organized by Starbucks Workers United, took place in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Seattle, with potential for expansion to other stores nationwide. At least 10 locations were closed as part of the action. According to WCCB, the strike followed a day after the Teamsters union announced walkouts at seven Amazon delivery hubs. Starbucks stated on Friday that the protests had “no significant impact” on its store operations.
