An American Airlines employee was killed on the tarmac at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport on Monday morning. According to WBTV, the employee was struck by an airline ramp vehicle around 9:30 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

In a show of respect, a line of workers extended across the tarmac as colleagues mourned the loss. Emergency and medical crews responded to the incident.

As of 5:20 p.m., FlightAware reported over 150 delays at the airport, though it was unclear whether these delays were directly linked to the fatality.
