Food Lion Opens New Store with ‘Garden Cooler’ and Hot Bar

Food Lion opened its latest store in the Charlotte region on Wednesday, Jan. 29, in Troutman, about 35 miles north of uptown Charlotte. According to The Charlotte Observer, the new 36,000-square-foot store features a “walk-in garden cooler,” a hot food bar, and ready-made meals for customers.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 7:45 a.m., marking the official opening at 155 Crosstie Lane in Iredell County. The store will employ around 80 people.
Since 2022, the Salisbury-based grocery chain has opened 11 new locations across four states, including two stores in Charlotte.
