Starbucks will lay off 1,100 corporate employees worldwide as new Chairman and CEO Brian Niccol works to streamline operations. In a letter to staff, Niccol said affected employees will be notified by mid-day Tuesday. According to WCCB, the company will also cut several hundred unfilled positions. Starbucks has 16,000 corporate support employees globally, though the layoffs do not include baristas or roasting and warehouse staff.
