This winter’s heating bills have been brutal for many families, especially low income households. With rising cost of electricity and natural gas, families in North Carolina are feeling a sharp pinch and the cost of comfort during these winter months is taxing their pocketbooks and wallets. The Mecklenburg County Homes Energy Assistance Program is here to help. ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland talked with Chanda Martin, Social Service Program Coordinator with the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEP) about how low income households can receive help.
